There are many causes of tooth discoloration. The most common include genetics, aging, consumption of staining substances (smoking, coffee, tea, and colas), tetracycline (antibiotic) staining, excessive fluoride, and old fillings. According to the FDA, the term "bleaching" is permitted to be used only when the teeth can be whitened beyond their natural color. This applies strictly to products that contain bleach – typically hydrogen peroxide or carbamide peroxide.

The term "whitening," on the other hand, refers to restoring a tooth's surface color by removing dirt and debris. So any product that cleans (like a toothpaste) is considered a whitener. Of course, the term whitening sounds better than bleaching, so it is more frequently used – even when describing products that contain bleach.

It is a great post! Here is the info I’ve gathered about causes of teeth discoloration. That includes: Coffee, tea, colas, wines, and certain fruits and vegetables (for example, apples and potatoes) can stain your teeth. Smoking or chewing tobacco can stain teeth. Inadequate brushing and flossing to remove plaque and stain-producing substances like coffee and tobacco can cause tooth discoloration. Several diseases that affect enamel and dentin can lead to tooth discoloration. Treatments for certain conditions can also affect tooth color. The antibiotics tetracycline and doxycycline are known to discolor teeth when given to children whose teeth are still developing (before the age of 8). Mouth rinses and washes containing chlorhexidine and cetylpyridinium chloride can also stain teeth. Some of the materials used in dentistry, such as amalgam restorations, especially silver sulfide-containing materials, can cast a gray-black color to teeth. There are other causes but these are the common ones.

Teeth discoloration can be caused by many factors: the food we eat, how you take care of your teeth, medicines, certain underlying diseases, and old age. However, this can be resolved by disguising the teeth with veneers - composite or porcelain or using DIY teeth whitening products. Laser could also be an option, but it could cost you so try to check if your insurance covers the procedure.

Your smile is important. It's one of the first things you notice when you meet someone. A whiter, brighter smile is beautiful. it can help you feel better about yourself and make a memorable impression Your lifestyle and the aging process can stain and darken your teeth. Many things we do on a regular basis can contribute to stained teeth, such as drinking coffee, tea, cola and red wine or smoking.

Whitening can get your smile looking its best. Non-professional procedures and clinically unproven teeth whitening tips can often lead to unsatisfactory results, you should look for a whitening procedure that is:
• Fast and convenient
• Long lasting
• Low sensitivity
• Proven to be safe and effective
• Performed by a Dental Professional

I agree with all your posts with regards to reasons of teeth discoloration hence; it is vital to have good dental habits like eating yogurt, strawberries and other food that whitens the teeth aside from dental treatments.

Rather than taking teeth whitening and teeth bleaching treatment you brush your teeth twice a day and wash your mouth with good mouth wash this will keep your teeth healthy and clean.

smoking, excess consumption of tea and coffee also causes discoloration of teeth. Washing your mouth with good mouth wash and brushing teeth before going to bed can help you prevent this.

Yellow/Stained teeth is primarily caused due to improper brushing of teeth leading to deposition of tartar on the teeth surface, excessive smoking habits, drinking tea or coffee etc. These lead to spoiling of teeth enamel and their color.

I can't tell for the whole world, but Zoom Teeth whitening prices in Los Angeles vary from $250 to $400. And sometimes a dental office could offer specials on whitenings to promote a new product or to get new patients. In this cases you might get a In Office Zoom Teeth Whitening at around $160 to $200.
Good Luck.
