I am an associate in a practice in Dallas, and we are currently having issues with our PracticeWorks software.  The main issues concerning the software are that it does not correctly generate issurance billing among other things, and there is a severe lack of customer support.  We have tossed around the idea of switching to another type of software alotgether, but we are concerned that that might bring aobut more issues than we currently have.  If anyone has any experience working with practiceworks ro other types of software in office, please put a reply so that I can get an idea about what works and what doesn't.  Thanks!

I am the office manager of a practice in Raleigh, NC and have previously temped all over our county and beyond, using all the software available at all the different offices. My favorite by far is Dentrix. The customer service is never lacking. I would say that EagleSoft is a close second. I would not get Easy Dental which is an "easier" version of Dentrix because Dentrix has so many useful extras. Good Luck!

Hi Dr. Martin,

I understand your annoyance, there are lots of software companies that just aren't giving the kind of support that they promise. The clinic I work in just switched to the dental softwareby Curve Dental and they are doing a great job. Hope this information helps. Good luck with your practice!

it is in the customization that Practiceworks falls mainly short... In the many years that I have had Practiceworks, I have not at all been able to master the custom function... It more or less requires a computer language background to master it this should not be the case for a vital dental tool..

I have heard a lot of good things about curve dental and I am thinking of switching over as well. Can you give me any more details? Have you been happy with the switch then?
